Scientists probe muscle 'Breathing' in arthritic knees
NCT ID NCT07471204
Summary
This study aims to understand how knee osteoarthritis affects muscle function by measuring oxygen levels in the thigh muscle. Researchers will compare 34 people with knee arthritis to healthy individuals, measuring oxygen before, during, and after a simple squat exercise. The goal is to learn more about the muscle problems linked to arthritis pain and weakness, which could help design better physical therapy in the future.
