Summary

This large, completed Phase 3 trial tested whether a single injection made from donated amniotic tissue could safely reduce pain and improve function in people with knee osteoarthritis better than a placebo saline injection. Nearly 600 adults with moderate-to-severe knee arthritis who hadn't gotten enough relief from other treatments received one injection and were followed for a full year. The main goal was to see if the treatment provided better pain relief at the 6-month mark compared to the placebo.
