New knee injection trial aims to ease arthritis pain

NCT ID NCT05727371

Summary

This study is testing if a single injection into the knee can safely reduce pain and improve movement for people with moderate to severe knee osteoarthritis. The injection combines a patient's own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with a gel-like fluid (HA) and is compared against a standard HA injection and a placebo (inactive) shot. Researchers will measure changes in pain, stiffness, and daily function over six months in 280 participants.
