Halted trial tests potential knee arthritis breakthrough
NCT ID NCT04814368
Summary
This study tested two experimental drugs, canakinumab and LNA043, given as injections directly into the knee joint of people with painful knee osteoarthritis. The goal was to see if these drugs could reduce pain, improve function, and potentially protect or even regrow knee cartilage. The trial was terminated early and only enrolled 23 participants, so results are very preliminary.
