New shot could cut bleeding in Tough-to-Treat hemophilia

NCT ID NCT06312475

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tests a weekly injection called KN057 to see if it can prevent bleeding episodes in people with hemophilia A or B who have developed inhibitors (antibodies that block standard treatment). About 53 male participants aged 12 to 70 will be randomly assigned to receive KN057 or no preventive treatment for 26 weeks, then everyone gets KN057 for another 26 weeks. The goal is to measure how many bleeding episodes occur and whether the drug is safe.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

KN057 (a drug injected under the skin once a week)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide a new option to prevent bleeding episodes in people with hemophilia who have developed inhibitors, reducing the need for on-demand treatment.

What could go wrong

This is a small Phase 3 trial with only 53 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug is still experimental, and its long-term safety and effectiveness are not yet proven.
