First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at how children (ages 9-13) and adults (18-50) build muscle after 12 weeks of leg exercises using either traditional weight stacks or flywheel machines. 91 healthy participants were randomly assigned to exercise or a control group. Researchers measured muscle growth with MRI and checked if exercise affected children's growth plates. The goal was to understand if kids can gain muscle safely and how their response compares to adults.
