New MRI sniffs out kidney cancer aggressiveness without a knife
NCT ID NCT04258462
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests a new type of MRI scan that uses a natural substance (pyruvate) to see how active a kidney tumor is. The goal is to tell if a tumor is harmless, slow-growing cancer, or aggressive cancer—without needing a biopsy or surgery. About 54 people with kidney tumors will get this scan, and doctors will compare the results to the actual tumor tissue to see if the scan is accurate.
