New drug trial aims to protect transplanted kidneys from damage

NCT ID NCT07219121

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called sparsentan can safely reduce protein in the urine of kidney transplant patients whose original kidney disease has returned. About 20 adult participants who received a transplant at least one year ago will take the daily tablet for 36 weeks while continuing their standard anti-rejection medications. Researchers will measure changes in urine protein levels and kidney function to see if the treatment helps protect the transplanted kidney.
