New drug trial aims to protect transplanted kidneys from silent damage
NCT ID NCT07219043
Summary
This study is testing whether an experimental drug called felzartamab can reduce inflammation in transplanted kidneys. Researchers will enroll 81 kidney transplant patients who have developed microvascular inflammation, a condition where the body's immune system damages the kidney's small blood vessels. Participants will receive either felzartamab or a placebo for 24 weeks, followed by an open-label period where everyone gets the drug, to see if it reduces inflammation and preserves kidney function.
