Cooling jacket trial aims to shield transplant kidneys from surgical heat damage

NCT ID NCT07348458

Summary

This study is testing the safety of a special cooling jacket designed to keep a donor kidney cold during transplant surgery. The goal is to protect the kidney from heat damage that can occur while surgeons connect it to the recipient's blood vessels, which may lead to better transplant results. The study will enroll 20 adult patients receiving a kidney transplant to see if the device is safe to use and easy for surgeons to work with.
