Three anesthesia methods tested to boost transplanted kidney function

NCT ID NCT03778944

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study compares three different anesthesia approaches during kidney transplant surgery to see which one best supports the new kidney's early function. It involves 60 patients with end-stage kidney disease receiving a living-donor transplant. Researchers will measure how well the new kidney filters waste after surgery to determine if one method—using Mannitol, Dopamine, or extra fluids—works better than the others.
