New kidney test trial for ICU patients
NCT ID NCT02050269
Summary
This study tested whether a new method to measure kidney function is practical for use in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Researchers enrolled 100 adults recently admitted to the ICU with unstable blood pressure. They used a special dye (iohexol) and took multiple blood samples to see if they could accurately estimate how well the kidneys were filtering waste.
