Shock waves vs. laser: which kidney stone treatment works better?

NCT ID NCT07261995

Summary

This study compares two standard treatments for kidney stones measuring 1-2 cm. One treatment uses external shock waves to break stones (ESWL), while the other uses a tiny laser inserted through the urinary tract (RIRS). Researchers will track 98 adults to see which method better clears stones, causes less pain, and leads to faster recovery. The goal is to help doctors and patients choose the most effective option.
