First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests a new surgical technique for removing large, branching kidney stones (staghorn calculi). It compares the new method, which uses a flexible scope through the ureter, to the standard procedure. The goal is to see which approach removes more stone fragments in one go, with fewer complications and shorter hospital stays. 420 adults with these stones will take part.
