New laser technique challenges traditional kidney stone surgery
NCT ID NCT07349992
Summary
This study compared two different surgical approaches for removing medium-sized kidney stones (2-3 cm). Researchers followed 60 adult patients to see which method worked better: a newer laser technique through natural body openings versus a traditional small-incision approach. The study measured how completely stones were removed, blood loss, and complication rates to determine which procedure is safer and more effective.
