3D scans aim to predict who needs a stent for kidney stones
NCT ID NCT07337954
Summary
This study tested whether a detailed 3D CT scan could better predict which patients need a temporary tube (a JJ stent) placed before shockwave treatment for kidney stones. Researchers compared the 3D scan method to the standard measurement formula in 56 patients. The goal was to help doctors decide upfront who needs a stent to avoid complications after the stone-breaking procedure.
