New program aims to stop kidney stone patients from falling through cracks

NCT ID NCT07322172

Summary

This study is testing a patient navigation program designed to help people who visit the emergency room for kidney stones actually attend their follow-up doctor's appointments. Researchers will identify 31 patients at high risk of missing their follow-up and pair them with a trained navigator who provides support for about 12 weeks. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and helps patients get the care they need to prevent future pain and complications.
