New hope to stop kidney damage after hospital stay

NCT ID NCT07182422

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a medication called Kremezin (AST-120) to standard care helps people recover from acute kidney injury. Researchers want to see if the drug can lower harmful toxins in the blood, help the kidneys heal better, and prevent the injury from turning into long-term kidney disease. The trial will involve 100 adults who recently had significant kidney damage during a hospital stay.
