Do kidneys heal after transplant? new study seeks answers
NCT ID NCT05717842
Summary
This study aims to understand how well a person's own kidneys recover function after receiving a combined liver and kidney transplant. Researchers will follow 15 patients with reduced kidney function who are scheduled for this dual transplant, using special scans before and after surgery to measure kidney performance. The goal is to develop better ways to predict which patients' native kidneys might recover after transplant.
