Breakthrough kidney protection method tested in High-Risk aneurysm surgery
NCT ID NCT07441564
Summary
This study tests whether a new technique called 'ischemic preconditioning' can protect kidneys during complex aortic aneurysm surgery. The technique involves briefly restricting and then restoring blood flow to the kidneys before the main surgery begins. Researchers will compare kidney outcomes in 206 patients who receive either this new technique or standard care during their aneurysm repair.
