Kidney trouble could trap patients on ventilators, new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07477652

Summary

This study aims to understand if sudden kidney injury makes it harder for critically ill adults to be successfully taken off mechanical ventilators. Researchers will observe 85 patients in intensive care to see if kidney problems independently predict a more difficult or failed weaning process. The goal is to gather knowledge to help identify high-risk patients earlier.
