New test aims to spot kidney trouble in sickest kids before It's too late
NCT ID NCT05114057
Summary
This study aimed to test a new method for predicting which critically ill children and newborns in intensive care would develop severe kidney injury and fluid overload. Researchers planned to use a risk score and a urine test (NGAL) to identify high-risk patients early. The goal was to help doctors make better decisions about fluid treatment and when to start or stop kidney support machines. The trial was withdrawn before any patients were enrolled.
