New hope for teens with silent kidney damage

NCT ID NCT07405216

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called dapagliflozin can help protect the kidneys of teenagers who have early signs of kidney disease, specifically too much protein in their urine. The trial will involve 200 adolescents in Mexico, who will receive either the real drug or a placebo pill for six months. The main goal is to see if the drug safely reduces the amount of protein in their urine, which is a key early warning sign of kidney damage.
