New scan aims to spot hidden kidney damage in young cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT07313878

Summary

This study is testing a new, detailed ultrasound technique to detect early signs of kidney damage in children and teens who have survived acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The goal is to find this damage earlier than current tests can, potentially before symptoms like protein in the urine appear. Researchers will use the scan on 30 survivors to see if it can spot subtle changes in kidney blood flow caused by past cancer treatments.
