Race against time: does surgery first or drugs first save more lives in advanced kidney cancer?

NCT ID NCT07233668

Summary

This study aims to find the best order of treatment for adults with advanced kidney cancer that has spread. Researchers want to know if having surgery to remove the main kidney tumor immediately, followed by immunotherapy drugs, works better than starting with the drugs first and doing surgery later. About 172 participants will be randomly assigned to one of these two treatment sequences and followed for 15 months to see which approach better controls the cancer and improves survival.
