Breakfast breakthrough? study tests easier, cheaper way to take cancer drug

NCT ID NCT05263245

Summary

This study tested if taking the kidney cancer drug cabozantinib with a light breakfast, instead of on an empty stomach, could make treatment easier and more effective. Researchers enrolled 12 patients to compare how the drug was absorbed by the body under both conditions. The goal was to see if taking it with food allows for lower doses or skipping some days, which could reduce side effects and lower the very high cost of treatment.
