Scientists probe why exercise may strain kidneys differently in older black adults
NCT ID NCT07029165
Summary
This study aims to understand if healthy older African American adults experience a greater reduction in kidney blood flow during exercise and stress compared to White adults. Researchers will measure blood flow in 12 healthy older participants using non-invasive ultrasound while they cycle, do a cold hand test, and solve math problems. The goal is to gather preliminary data to explain racial disparities in heart and kidney disease and guide future prevention research.
