New test may simplify MS diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07183020

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a protein called kappa free light chains (KFLC) in spinal fluid can help diagnose multiple sclerosis (MS) as accurately as the current standard test. Researchers will compare results from over 1,100 adults diagnosed with MS or a first MS-like episode. If KFLC works as well, it could make diagnosis faster and easier.
