New test may sharpen MS diagnosis in thousands
NCT ID NCT07183020
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether measuring kappa free light chains (KFLC) in spinal fluid can help diagnose multiple sclerosis (MS) and its early stage, clinically isolated syndrome (CIS). Researchers will compare KFLC to the current standard test (oligoclonal bands) in over 1100 adults. The goal is to see if KFLC is just as good or better at spotting the disease.
