Can a common anti-inflammatory cut opioid use after spinal fusion?

NCT ID NCT06513208

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether the anti-inflammatory drug ketorolac can lower the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed after lumbar spinal fusion surgery. About 140 adults having one- or two-level fusion will receive either ketorolac or a placebo for the first 48 hours after surgery. The goal is to see if ketorolac helps control pain without harming bone healing.
