Could a High-Fat diet help kids heal from brain injury?
NCT ID NCT04933448
First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This small pilot study looked at whether a ketogenic (high-fat, low-carb) diet is safe and doable for children who have had a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. Seven children took part, and the goal was to see if they could stay on the diet for 14 days without serious side effects. The results will help plan a larger study to see if the diet can improve recovery.
