Summary

This study compares two common anesthesia drugs, ketamine and propofol, given at the start of heart surgery to see which one better protects the kidneys from injury. About 200 adults having complex heart surgery at Mayo Clinic will take part. The goal is to find out if ketamine reduces the risk of acute kidney injury after surgery.
