New study aims to make biopsies less painful with ketamine
NCT ID NCT07040163
First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests whether using ketamine with midazolam reduces pain better than the standard fentanyl with midazolam during biopsies and drainage procedures. About 276 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two sedation combinations. Researchers will measure pain scores, side effects, and patient satisfaction to see if ketamine offers a better experience without increasing risks.
