First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study compares two forms of ketamine—IV ketamine (not FDA-approved for depression) and esketamine nasal spray (FDA-approved)—in 400 adults with treatment-resistant depression. The goal is to see which works better, is more acceptable, and has fewer side effects. Participants receive 8 treatments over one month, and researchers track depression symptoms using standard questionnaires.
