Ketamine cuts strong painkiller need by 25% in trauma patients

NCT ID NCT04833816

Summary

This study tested whether a low, continuous dose of ketamine could reduce the amount of strong opioid painkillers needed by patients with severe traumatic injuries. It involved 140 adults who had injuries in at least two major body regions. The goal was to see if ketamine could cut opioid use by at least 25% over 48 hours without making pain control worse.
