New nasal spray aims to rapidly reduce suicidal thoughts in severe depression

Summary

This study is testing whether a nasal spray containing a form of ketamine can quickly reduce severe depression symptoms and suicidal thoughts in adults. About 98 participants with major depression and active suicidal thoughts will receive either the spray or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the spray significantly improves depression scores within 24 hours and is safe to use.
