First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving ketamine during laparoscopic gastric sleeve surgery can lower the chance and severity of shoulder pain after the operation. About 50 adults having the surgery will be split into two groups: one gets ketamine as part of anesthesia, the other does not. Researchers will measure pain using standard scales to see if ketamine helps.
