Hospital trial tests ketamine shot & brain training to fight suicidal thoughts

NCT ID NCT04578938

Summary

This study is testing whether a single dose of the medication ketamine, given to hospitalized patients at risk for suicide, can quickly reduce suicidal thoughts. Researchers then want to see if following the ketamine with a computer-based training program can help make those positive effects last longer. The goal is to find a faster, more effective way to help people in crisis by preparing their brain to learn healthier thought patterns.
