Gentler eye treatment tested for vision disorder

NCT ID NCT07173907

Summary

This study compared two ways to perform a procedure called corneal cross-linking, which aims to stop the progression of keratoconus, a condition where the front of the eye bulges outward. One method removes a thin protective layer of the eye, while a newer method leaves it intact, which may be more comfortable. Researchers followed 135 adults for two years to see which technique was better at stabilizing the eye's shape and improving vision.
