First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a blood test called MeMed BV in over 1,300 adults with suspected lower respiratory infections in emergency rooms. The goal is to see if the test helps doctors prescribe antibiotics only when truly needed, reducing unnecessary use. Participants are randomly assigned to have the test result available or not, and antibiotic use and outcomes are compared.
