New depression pill enters major testing phase

Summary
This study is testing a new oral medication, JS1-1-01, to see if it can help reduce symptoms in adults with moderate to severe depression. About 180 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real tablet or a placebo (a dummy pill that looks the same) to compare their effects. The main goal is to measure changes in depression severity and check the medication's safety over the course of the trial.
