Faster vs. longer numbing: which is better after jaw surgery?

NCT ID NCT06450028

Summary

This study aimed to find out which of two commonly used numbing medicines works better for patients recovering from jaw surgery. Researchers compared lidocaine, which works quickly but wears off faster, to bupivacaine, which takes longer to start but lasts much longer. They measured pain, numbness, and sensation in 60 young adults after surgery to see which medicine led to a better recovery experience.
