New titanium jaw implant aims to simplify complex reconstructions
NCT ID NCT00213837
Summary
This study tested a porous titanium implant to rebuild the front jaw and surrounding soft tissue after surgery. It aimed to provide an alternative to more complex reconstructions using bone flaps from other parts of the body, which often have higher complication rates. The trial involved 7 adult patients and used scans and blood tests to monitor outcomes.
