New approach for clicking jaw pain tested

NCT ID NCT07487675

Summary

This study is testing whether adding the medication sodium valproate to a standard jaw joint washout procedure helps reduce inflammation and improve symptoms in people with painful, clicking jaw joints. Researchers are measuring levels of an inflammation protein in joint fluid before and after treatment to see if the combination works better than the standard procedure alone. The study includes 10 female patients aged 17-35 who haven't improved with other treatments.
