Jail study aims to keep opioid treatment on track after release

Summary
This study looks at whether giving a monthly buprenorphine shot to people in jail who already take daily buprenorphine helps them stay on treatment after they leave. About 200 adults entering jail with an active prescription will be randomly assigned to either switch to the monthly shot or stay on daily pills. The goal is to see which approach leads to more people leaving jail with at least a week of protection and continuing treatment in the community.
