First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to check blood flow to organs right after surgery for a torn aorta. Doctors used a tiny ultrasound probe placed inside the aorta to see if any organs were not getting enough blood. The goal was to find and fix problems faster, before permanent damage occurs. 50 adults with aortic dissection and signs of poor organ blood flow took part.
