New hope for bile duct cancer: targeted pill may prevent recurrence after standard treatment
NCT ID NCT07260175
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a daily pill called ivosidenib can help prevent bile duct cancer from returning in people who have already had surgery and chemotherapy. The drug targets a specific genetic change (IDH1 mutation) found in some bile duct cancers. About 40 adults with this mutation will take ivosidenib for up to a year, and researchers will track how many remain cancer-free after one year.
