Immune boost tested to help preemies breathe

NCT ID NCT06925360

Summary

This study is testing whether giving intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), a solution of antibodies, can help treat a serious lung condition called bronchopulmonary dysplasia in very premature babies. It will involve about 20 infants born between 25 and 30 weeks of pregnancy who show signs of the lung disease. The main goal is to see if the treatment helps babies survive without needing breathing support by 36 weeks of adjusted age.
