Summary
This study tests whether adding intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) to standard care helps people hospitalized with a sudden, severe worsening of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). About 196 adults with IPF who are having an acute exacerbation will receive either usual treatment alone or usual treatment plus IVIG. The main goal is to see if IVIG reduces the chance of death or needing a breathing tube during the hospital stay.
