Summary
This study tested a special kit designed to make it easier and less painful to place an IV in young children. Researchers compared different combinations of a vein-finding device and a special catheter in 800 children aged 1 to 6. The main goals were to see if the kit improved the success of placing the IV, reduced complications, and lessened the child's pain during the procedure.
